ring the doorbell

thunder rolls ominously in the distance. you reach for the doorbell, and as you press the button, a hundred and twenty volts surges through your finger, passes through your body and into the puddle of water that has collected at your wet feet.

every nerve in your body explodes in pain, several teeth in your mouth shatter as you convulse violently, and you finally fall in a smoking heap onto the porch.

rain continues to fall through the gaping holes in the porch roof and onto your face as you take your last breath.
